The licence opens the door to offering investment advice and managing investment portfolios on behalf of Canadian clients including Canadian securities.

DR. THORSTEN KRAUSS - Partner, CIO

I previously served as CIO and Member of the Management Board at Vontobel Swiss Wealth Advisors AG, the SEC unit of Bank Vontobel that serves US clients. Prior to that, I worked as Head of Portfolio Management at Notenstein Private Bank. I started my career as a Portfolio Manager in institutional asset management at Union Investment AG, Frankfurt.

I am Partner and CIO of Alpen Partners. I hold a Master’s Degree in Engineering from University of Stuttgart and a PhD in Engineering from University of Karlsruhe. I am also a Certified Financial Analyst (CEFA).

In my free time I enjoy traveling, fitness, skiing, and family life. I am a Swiss and German citizen.
